Privacy Policy

Who we are

This website, phoenix-project.eu, presents PHOENIX, a Horizon Europe project funded by the European Union under the EU Cancer Mission and coordinated by the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR).

Data we collect

We only collect the data you choose to send us, and the technical data needed to run the site securely:

  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message.
  • With each form submission: your IP address, browser type and the page you came from, recorded to protect our forms against abuse.
  • Audience statistics: only if you accept statistics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about your visit, such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location.
  • Technical data: server logs kept by our hosting provider for security purposes, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested.

Why we use it and on what legal basis

  • To answer your message: our legitimate interest in replying to requests about the project (GDPR, article 6(1)(f)).
  • To send you project news: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (article 6(1)(a)).
  • To measure the audience of the website: your consent, given in the cookie banner (article 6(1)(a)).
  • To keep the website secure: our legitimate interest in protecting the service (article 6(1)(f)).

We do not use your data for advertising and we never sell it.

How long we keep it

  • Contact messages: [12 months] after your request has been handled.

Who can access it

Your data is accessed only by the members of the PHOENIX team in charge of communication and of answering your request. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, processes the data on our behalf as a data processor. If you accept statistics cookies, Google Ireland Limited processes audience data on our behalf; this data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise these rights, write to contact@phoenix-project.eu.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the authority of the country where you live.
